In a bold resurgence of local style advocacy, Proudly SA is reviving the Local Fashion Police for its fourth year, this time with FNB as a key partner. This campaign, which supports the retail, clothing, textile, footwear, and leather (R-CTFL) sector, aims to boost local fashion by highlighting its role in job creation and economic growth.

This year’s campaign features a dynamic team of fashion authorities: Orapeleng Modutle from OM Style Avenue, Jessica Jane Molebatsi of Molebatsi, House of Ole by Ole Ledimo, and Mzukisi Mbane from Imprint ZA. These judges will seek out passionate supporters of South African fashion and reward them for their dedication.
Happy MaKhumalo Ngidi, chief marketing officer of Proudly SA, shared her enthusiasm. “We’re excited to bring back this initiative, to further our mission of promoting local talent and encouraging consumers to support South African made garments.”

FNB’s involvement highlights the importance of local businesses. Andiswa Bata, CEO of FNB Business, emphasised, “supporting SMEs is crucial for sustainable economic growth. Our partnership with the Local Fashion Police reflects our commitment to investing in local industries.”
Consumers are invited to showcase their local fashion finds on social media for a chance to win R40 000 worth of bespoke clothing. Winners will be chosen based on their support for local designers, with the prize benefiting both the winner and the designer.
The campaign will culminate in a vibrant fashion show, spotlighting the best of South African design and reinforcing the value of supporting local fashion.
