Videos circulating on social media capture a shocking moment of an alleged attempted kidnapping of a businessman at a BP petrol station in Melrose Arch.
The footage, which has quickly gone viral, shows the dramatic incident as it unfolded, sparking widespread concern and discussion.
Viewers applaud the bravery of a petrol attendant who appears to have foiled the kidnapping. The CCTV footage’s date stamp says the incident occurred on September 20 at 17:00.

The petrol station has been contacted but the attendant is not on duty today (September 28).
South African Police Services (SAPS) spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe is aware of the video and hails the attendant’s bravery.
SAPS provincial spokesperson Captain Mavela Masonda was contacted and said that he had seen the video but had no further information.
