St Teresa’s School in Rosebank elects head girls for 2025
Collaboration, community, service, and global responsibility are leadership roles assumed by St Teresas School head girls.
St Teresa’s School in Rosebank’s three newly elected head girls are delighted about their leadership roles and are ready to be effective leaders.
Isabella Di Nicola, elected head girl under the collaboration pillar, said being head girl was a dream come true.

“There are three pillars under which a head girl falls: collaboration, community service, and global responsibility, and I was chosen for the collaboration pillar. In terms of how this made me feel, it was exhilarating and was a goal I worked towards.”
Di Nicola noted that her aim as head girl was mainly about collaboration, which focuses on aspects such as spirit and school community, and she wants to breed a culture of unity among the different grades.
“How I played my part in being a possible candidate was being involved in the school’s extracurricular activities and being a well-rounded learner. I look forward to being able to have opportunities to create different initiatives and activities for the school.”
Another head girl Mupindishe Mabhunu explained that being elected into the global responsibility pillar was a goal she had her eyes on.

“I am excited about the position because I am passionate about global responsibility. When I was in grade 11 I was on a committee where I had a list of things I wanted to achieve and continue should I be head girl.”
Mupindishe explained that her leadership role entailed hosting community initiatives, such as ‘Bravery Week’ where she will have specific topics put to life over three terms, such as Afrophobia and microaggressions, and where they will discuss other topics, which are taboo, and create a safe space among her peers to have these discussions.
“My goal was to always make a difference in the spaces I was passionate about and this role is how I can do that.”
The third head girl, elected under the community service pillar, Sara Potterton, concluded that her goal was to help younger grades feel included, and that they have a role to play in the school.
“It is important to me that our school is a safe and welcoming environment.”
