Parktown High School for Girls hosts its 16th annual Golf Day

Parktown High School for Girls is in its 16th year of raising funds through Golf Day.

In a quest to raise R100 000 for its ground staff, Parktown High School for Girls hosted its 16th annual Golf Day at Parkview Golf Course on August 23.

The annual fundraising event was organised by the school’s Parents Association.

Acting headmistress Gail Davidson said the initiative was one of the school’s biggest. “We have golfers who have supported us from the time since we began. It is nice to see old friends support us annually.”
She added over the years, the money raised from the golf day had always gone toward the school’s needs, but this year it will go to the school’s ground staff who have newly renovated accommodation.

The school’s marketing and communications representative Kerry Liss said the top 13 four balls were awarded with prizes ranging from travel bags to picnic and gin hampers.

“We also handed out 10 raffle prizes and auctioned two two-night stays at lodges in the Kruger National Park, gin tasting and restaurant vouchers from Indaba and many other prizes from our sponsors.”
