Parktown Boys’ conquer Northcliff in a nail-biting rugby showdown

In a match defined by drama and determination, Parktown Boys’ High School overcame Northcliff in a thrilling rugby encounter that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Parktown’s resurgence was evident as they started to dominate the collisions and gain more ground. By the 40th minute, their perseverance paid off when Christian Cele crossed the try line, narrowing Northcliff’s lead to 7–5. However, Northcliff quickly retaliated with a converted penalty, pushing the score to 10–5 in their favour.

Despite the setback, Parktown’s attacking ability became increasingly apparent. In the 60th minute, a precise long skip pass found scrum half Thepiso Tladi in the corner, who then scored to level the game at 10–10. With both teams evenly matched, the tension mounted as they vied for the decisive advantage.

The decisive moment came with just five minutes remaining. Parktown executed a well-placed lineout throw, and fly half Kelvin Kotey’s brilliant run split the Northcliff defence, allowing him to score from 15 yards out and put Parktown ahead 15–10.

Northcliff surged forward in the closing moments, but Parktown’s defence held firm. In the final minute, Thepiso seized the opportunity to score again, sealing the victory with a try that brought the final score to 20–10.
