Robbery in Rosebank leaves 1 victim shot and 2 suspects on the run

The victim is still alive and was taken to the nearest hospital by emergency services.

Rosebank is yet again the target of what appears to be a violent crime.

An armed robbery has been reported in Rosebank on August 22 at around 20:15. Allegedly one suspect pulled out a handgun and charged at a male (aged between 36 and 40).

“The suspect[s] demanded a watch from the victim, it is suspected that the suspect shot the victim in the stomach. They then took the watch from the victim’s wrist and fled the scene,” said Basil Ngakane, Rosebank Management District Operations Manager.

“The victim rushed inside the shop and called for help. JC reaction & 24/7 were called and they responded immediately.

A JC officer stated that they went inside the shop, where the victim was and found the victim holding his stomach when they called for an ambulance.

The incident was reported to Rosebank Police Station. Emergency services were called and the victim was transported to the nearest hospital.

“The victim looked not badly hurt or injured except for his stomach, where he was putting pressure with his hand,” concluded Ngakane.

The police were contacted for comment. More information will be published as it becomes available.
