Founded in 1957, the Capri Cycling Club in Melrose Arch has evolved into one of the region’s largest and most dynamic cycling communities, renowned for its inclusivity and dedication to sport and social causes. The club’s youngest rider is a spirited fourteen-year-old who effortlessly completes 90km rides, while the oldest, an eighty-five-year-old gentleman, pedals through 80km with remarkable ease. Their dedication and passion for cycling is truly inspirational.
One of the club’s most poignant initiatives is their ongoing fundraising for cancer support, driven by personal experiences of loss within their tight-knit community. Members, some riding together for over three decades, have been deeply impacted by cancer, prompting them to rally behind DL Link, a charity that provided crucial care to two beloved teammates.

The Steven Blend Memorial Ride, along with annual raffles and auctions, serves as a heartfelt tribute to a cherished member who succumbed to the disease.
