Siphesihle Community Club and BySaidey host a successful clothing drive

Collected clothing items totaled to 2 000.

The Siphesihle Community Club, in collaboration with BySaidey, hosted a successful clothing drive on July 13 in Bramley View, which saw an overwhelming turnout of donors and volunteers, in a mission to support those in need.

Organisers collected over 2 000 clothing items, which included winter coats, shoes, and children’s wear.

The donations were distributed to underprivileged families within the community, ensuring they had adequate clothing for the winter season.

Kamohelo Skhosana, the founder of BySaidey, expressed her gratitude for the community’s support.

“The response was heartwarming. It is incredible to see what we can achieve when we come together, every item donated will make a significant difference in someone’s life.”

Community leader and ward committee member, Theo Lengwati played a pivotal role in mobilising volunteers and spreading the word about the drive.

Siphesihle Community Club founders, Maureen Shezi and Ylla Sentzikas emphasised the importance of such initiatives. “Our community thrives when we support each other. This clothing drive is a testament to the power of collective effort and compassion.”

The team and volunteers worked tirelessly, sorting and packaging the donated items. Many participants noted the spirit of camaraderie and the sense of fulfilment in contributing to a worthy cause.
