Norwood outreach seeks donations for Mandela Day food parcels

In preparation for Mandela Day, Jackie van der Westhuizen, leading the outreach efforts in Norwood precinct, is rallying community support to assemble 67 food parcels for those facing hardship.

As Mandela Day approaches, Jackie van der Westhuizen, from Norwood’s outreach efforts, passionately calls upon our community to unite in compassion. Together, we aim to create 67 essential food parcels for needy individuals and families.

Donations of non-perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and other staples that provide sustenance beyond measure are desperately needed. These contributions will directly benefit our neighbours experiencing food insecurity.

Donations are graciously accepted throughout the month, ensuring sustained support beyond Mandela Day. Every additional donation received will continue to fuel our ongoing efforts within the community.

Convenient drop-off points are situated at Arbour Cafe & Courtyard, and Jackie is available at 082 959 1454 to arrange collection for those unable to visit. Your generosity will honour Mandela’s legacy of empathy and service, and empower Jackie and her team to make a profound impact in Norwood.

Let’s come together to ensure everyone in our community feels supported and cared for this Mandela Day and beyond.
