On a warm, winter morning, 168 participants and 17 volunteers eagerly awaited the start of another Atholl Parkrun on June 15.
The weekly event over 5km is organised by volunteers and takes place every Saturday morning in Winston Ridge Park.
Parkrun is usually attended by runners, walkers, and joggers.
Daniel Crane (12) celebrated his 100th run. “I began running when I was six. I enjoy the freedom that comes with the sport.”
Frequent Atholl Parkrunner Joseph Tembe said, parkruns prepared him for his recent Comrades race.
“I began parkrun in 2018 and finished it in 25 minutes which pushed me to run faster and stay consistent. Running consistently helps you become stronger and meet other runners who inspire you to go further in your journey.”
The weekly event is organised by volunteers and takes place every Saturday morning in Winston Ridge Park at 08:00.
