Bellavista School roars with Wakandavista play

Bellavista School's curtains rise to unveil Wakandavista, a spellbinding journey of self-discovery and courage, where young hearts and vivid imaginations converge on a stage ablaze with creativity.

Bellavista School’s latest theatrical endeavour, staged from June 5 to 9, has turned a familiar storyline into a captivating spectacle.

Wakandavista, a play centred on young Leo, a lion cub searching for his missing mane, takes audiences on an imaginative journey filled with self-discovery and confidence.

The play opens with an invitation aboard Safe Harbour Airways, whisking Leo and the audience off to the vibrant and whimsical land of Wakandavista. Leo’s quest for his mane becomes a metaphorical journey, teaching valuable lessons through a series of colourful encounters.

Throughout his adventure, Leo meets an array of vibrant characters who impart important life lessons. Guided by the wise and humorous Elder Lion, Leo assists a rhino plagued by an itchy dilemma, teaches an elephant the significance of listening, and encourages a giraffe to embrace its unique abilities. The climax of Leo’s journey involves helping a leopard find its spots, a powerful symbol of inner beauty and self-acceptance.

The production’s set, designed collaboratively by learners, teachers, and parents, emphasises environmental consciousness with its earth-friendly, recycled materials, while the savannah-themed costumes bring the story to vivid life. The young cast members deliver heartfelt performances, showcasing their charisma and dedication in every scene.

The production celebrates creativity, collaboration, and cognitive and emotional development, showcasing the transformative power of self-discovery and friendship. Bellavista learners’ performances were poignant reminders of perseverance and community support.
