St Teresa’s School hosts enthusiastic junior primary inter-house netball event

The event was a resounding success, leaving students, staff, and families eagerly anticipating next year’s inter-house netball celebration.

St Teresa’s Junior Primary hosted its annual inter-house netball on June 5. The day showed the learners athletic skills, creativity and community spirit.

Grade 2 Rosies Riley Odendaal, Jessa Lambert, Emma Allison and Grade 1 learner Isla Laidlaw from Marian House with their colourful bibs.

The event kicked off with a vibrant parade of grades 1, 2, and 3 learners displaying their handmade bibs in house colours – red for McAuley, yellow for Marian, and green for Lourdes. “The creativity and effort put into each bib using recyclable and other items from home was remarkable, and we are immensely proud of our girls for their innovative designs,” remarked Lynne Elfick, St Teresa’s Junior Primary School principal.

The netball matches featured a spirited competition among grades 2 and 3 teams. Each 10-minute game was evidence of the learners’ netball skills and teamwork. The enthusiastic cheers from peers and families heightened the excitement, creating a supportive and energetic environment for the players.

One of the standout moments of the day was the fun match between the teachers and the Grade 7 learners. The friendly rivalry and enthusiastic play added an extra layer of enjoyment for everyone involved.

Ultimately, Marian House clinched first place, while Lourdes and McAuley Houses tied for a well-deserved second place. “We are immensely proud of all our Rosies for their hard work and dedication throughout the netball season,” said Lianda May, admissions and marketing liaison. The event was once again a success and remains a cherished tradition, encouraging a sense of unity and pride among the young Rosies.
