Hallatt said, “We aim to turn the art world on its head by putting the artists first, then the market. We want to give open access to people to see art as it is made in the studio, to meet and engage with artists directly, and to be part of Johannesburg’s art world meaningfully.”

In a city swarming with creativity and innovation, Contra.Joburg stands as a beacon of artistic excellence, inviting all to join in celebrating Johannesburg’s rich cultural heritage.
