The Pirates Club rugby team returned to their Greenside grounds for practice ahead of the 2024 season, on January 9.
The club captain Tumi Maake said going into the 2024 season, the team’s goal was to maintain and work with the same group of rugby players the club had.
“We also have a lot of new players we welcomed to our team. We come into the new year as champions of the Pirates Grand Challenge last year and our biggest goal is to retain that title.”
Maake added the team was training for the upcoming Gold Cup which they have qualified for and is the biggest competition in SA.
