Putco bus accident on Oxford and Bompass Road leaves occupants injured

A case docket for reckless and negligent driving has been opened at Rosebank SAPS for investigation.

Putco bus accident on Oxford and Bompass Road left occupants injured on January 15.

Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department’s spokesperson, Superintendent Xolani Fihla, said JMPD officers attended to an accident scene that occurred after 06:00 in the Rosebank area involving one vehicle – a Putco bus.

“The cause of the accident has not yet been determined, but it is alleged that the vehicle lost control, left the roadway and drove through a wall before the intersection.”

He added that eight occupants of the vehicle including the driver sustained slight to serious injuries and seven other passengers were taken to Helen Joseph Hospital.

A case docket for reckless and negligent driving has been opened at Rosebank SAPS for further investigation.
