IQ Football Academy bids farewell to the 2023 soccer season

IQ Football U10-16 trials begin in January 13.

IQ Football Academy held a prize-giving for its U11 and U15 teams on November 24 at AJ’s in the Park in Craighall Park.

The event was well attended by parents and players alike, and the players collected their medals, certificates, and football assessments for the season. There were also various trophies up for grabs in both age groups including coaches players, players players, and top scorers.

IQ Football is the only football academy training in Johannesburg that focuses on brain-centred training.

According to the football site, the academy is unique ‘in that we offer football training that is based on scientific research, especially in the neuroscience field’.
“Our football coaching approach values each child as uniquely intelligent and helps them reach their full potential with a personal football trainer, who is also trained in neuroscience-based mentoring.”

Head coach Essien Kumwenda summarised the year with the highlights for both teams, and the academy’s Sean Szabo outlined the vision and goals for expansion in 2024.

Trials for the U10–16 teams will take place on January 13 for people who are interested, including girls between those ages who would like to join the 2024 girls’ team.
