Parktown Boys’ High School learner is grateful for his deputy head boy position

Gomotsegang Molefe is the captain in basketball and hockey.

Parktown Boys’ High School learner Gomotsegang Molefe said although he did not expect to be deputy head boy, he had always held himself to high standards and worked hard towards his goals.

Molefe noted he had been in several leadership positions including captain of the school’s basketball and hockey teams as well as the provincial hockey team.

The Grade 11 learner believed his quality of being consistent was what made him an eligible learner for the deputy head boy position.

“When I first stepped foot in the school, I knew from that day that I wanted to be a leader in this school. With that in mind, I knew that the only thing that could help me achieve that was to always be consistent and have remained as a top academic scholar for the past four years.”

He said his main goal for next year was to leave a legacy and an impact that will be felt when the school achieves its 200-year milestone in another 100 years.

Molefe said the only way to excel and handle all the responsibilities that come with this role, while keeping his academics a top priority, was simply to time manage carefully and be as productive as he could be at all times.

“I have been good with my time management skills since I was young so I don’t see the new leadership role interfering with my studies.”
