Parktown Boys’ High School learner looks forward to 2024 with a new leadership position

Reval Meth's first leadership position was being RCL in Grade 8.

Parktown Boys’ High School learner Reval Meth said his head boy appointment left him surprised and it took time to sink in.

Reval said he would like to believe he was considered to be the head boy for specific reasons. “I think the way I got along with not only my peers but the boys in the grades above me, as well as the boys in the grades below me. That paired with my participation in the school, having played first team rugby and water polo this year as well as captaining the A-team rugby in grades 9 and 10.”

His first leadership position in the school was being an RCL member in Grade 8 and each year after that.

The head boy’s 2024 goals include bringing back a culture driven by respect not only for the seniors but also for the school and what learners represent.

Reval said he was not worried about how he would juggle his new leadership position and academics, “I have been told by some of my teachers that if I ever need help with anything I must ask them.”

He encouraged any young learner who wanted to be in his leadership position. “Don’t change who you are for the position, stay true to yourself and represent your school with pride no matter what. Treat the people you meet with respect and that will take you a long way.”
