Parktown Boys’ High School bid farewell in a heartfelt final assembly

Parktown Boys'High School bid farewell to the 2023 matric group and introduced the 2024 Student Executive Council.

Parktown Boys’ High School bade farewell to the 2023 centenary matric group on October 23 at their final assembly along with the induction of the 2024 Student Executive Council.
Each year, the matrics and the members of the council form key rites of passage for the Grade 12 and Grade 11 learners.

Addressing the school, headmaster Kevin Stippel spoke of his immense pride at being part of the key events of the Parktown Boys’ Centenary year. “As a school, we recognise the importance of embracing change and fostering a spirit of unity within our community.”

He commended the matric Class of 2023’s resilience and unwavering spirit in the face of challenges.

Stippel also congratulated learner, Gift Moyo on an outstanding year as head prefect. He spoke of Gift’s growth as a servant leader, his temperament, his passion, his strong sense of empathy, and always providing support for those in need around him, across all grades.

Gift thanked others for the role they played in his growth. “You guys are the real head boys, you’ve played an important role in my life,” he said.

In looking to the future, Moyo called on the matrics and said their journey as lifelong learners and contributors to society was only beginning. “I have the utmost confidence it will be a journey marked by success, compassion and a continued commitment to make a positive difference in the world.”
