The event was held at an open space in Melrose Arch on September 30 where passers-by could just stop by and have a chat, grab a pamphlet, and a coffee. Norwood Police Spokesperson Sergeant Eric Masotsha said they wanted to show community members that they shouldn’t be afraid of the police but rather be able to approach them for any of their service-related enquiries.

Several other institutions were present including Lifeline, Emergency Medical Services, the Norwood Community Police Forum, Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department and several security companies. Together with Norwood Police Station members, provincial level police members, as well as K9 Unit, were present.
