Linden police arrest 2 for murder in Blairgowrie

Linden police officer receives alert for the suspicion of a particular crime but arrives to find worse.

A Linden police officer was on duty when he received an alert concerning domestic violence on Barkston Drive in Blairgowrie.

According to the Linden Police Station communication officer Sergeant Takalani Sibiya, the police officer went to the scene and upon arrival, he noted a male lying next to a blue BMW.

“The police officer contacted emergency services to the scene as the person laying on the ground had been injured.”
She added that at the scene, there was a group of security guards who had informed the police officer about what had happened.

“Through the questioning of the witnesses, they shared that they saw two males assaulting the victim with a wooden stick. The witnesses identified the suspects who were standing next to the blue BMW.”
She said an ambulance arrived at the scene; after the paramedics assessed the victim, they declared him dead.

“The deceased was unknown to the people of the community.”

She added that the two suspects were arrested and taken to the Linden SAPS for detention and were charged with murder.

The Linden police are asking families who have not seen or heard from someone in their family since July 8, to please contact the station on 011 888 9211.
