Having been around for eight years, 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day continues to do incredible work all over the country.
The focus of this year’s 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day, Secret Scarves mission was to pay homage to and say thank you to frontline health workers.
The Secret Scarves mission took place at Park Care Centre, where all the nurses for the centre were given scarves, cakes, and personal care kits.
Lynton Lefever, brand ambassador for 67 blankets, said he knows it is never easy to be a frontline health worker, “This year we got help from Parktown High School for Girls and we have over 400 scarves. Today is a small way for us at 67 Blankets to say thank you [to health workers] for everything you do and the hours you spend with the patients that you have.”
He said they did about 20 activations of scarf giveaways on July 6.
Park Care Centre nurse, Lerato Ringane, said she is happy and grateful to have received scarves and goodies and would like to thank the 67 Blankets team on behalf of all the Park Care nurses.
“This is a good [campaign], and it means a lot to us to be reconsidered for the work we do as nurses, and for sure I will keep warm this winter.”
