Two Parkhurst Clinic Covid-19 tents burn down

Community members are encouraged go inside the clinic for Covid-19 vaccinations.

Two of the Parkhurst Clinic’s Covid-19 vaccination tents burnt down during the early hours of June 23.

According to Ward 117 councillor Tim Truluck, a Safe Parks 24/7 patrol vehicle patrolling Parkhurst noticed a fire at the back of Parkhurst Clinic. Safe Park 24/7 Security informed the fire department but managed to extinguish the fire before it reached the main building.

Truluck said one of the tents that caught fire was in the library car park. According to him, nobody knows who did it or why, but the matter is being investigated by the police. “With the tent burned down, it means that people must now go into the clinic itself to get Covid-19 vaccinations and boosters.”

Joburg Emergency Services spokesperson Nana Radebe also confirmed the incident.

The Rosebank Killarney Gazette has contacted Parkview Police Station for comment.
