Sector 1 manager at the Parkview Police Station Constable Fumani Mlondobozi says he is willing and dedicated to serve the local community.
Mlondobozi was recently appointed as Sector 1 manager after working for seven years at the station.
Sector 1 covers areas including Parkhurst, Parktown North, Dunkeld West and Craighall Park.
“It is my responsibility to be an approachable people person. I am a bridge between the police and the local community. I am the voice of the community and the police,” Mlondobozi explained.
“The community must know that they can rely on the Parkview SAPS and on me. I am always willing and available to assist them at any time, including weekends.”
Mlondobozi reassures community members that all crime is being dealt with and police are running a number of initiatives and awareness campaigns within the local area. “A good combination of police work and community work is necessary in order to combat crime.”
He describes himself as a selfless and brave individual who feels he must take responsibility for the community. “I feel that I must put on the boots and work for my country.”
Mlondobozi said that though housebreaking is a particular challenge at present, police and community members are working together to deal with the problem.
