Joint operation sees 41 undocumented persons arrested

PARKVIEW – All the undocumented persons will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on March 28.

A joint operation between Parkview police, Metro police, the Department of Home Affairs, private security, the Community Policing Forum and patrollers yielded results on March 25.

Spokesperson for the Parkview Police Station Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said that 41 undocumented persons were among the suspects arrested during the operation in the policing precinct.

Sibeko said that all suspects will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on March 28 to answer to charges of contravention of the Immigration Act.

Station Commander Colonel Devan Govender commended the members and other stakeholders for their commitment and dedication during the operation and further mentioned that police will continue to serve and protect the community.
