Donor makes his 250th blood donation

RAEDENE – Blood service encourages more people to donate.

Stephen Jawitz of Hatzolah Medical Rescue recently donated his 250th unit of blood to help save lives.

Donating at the community based medical rescue centre in Raedene, Jawitz reached a milestone that is worth acknowledging. Head of Donor Relations Egoli Zone Debra Forster said many committed donors looked forward to donating blood every eight weeks and it was a great way to do something good to impact someone’s life.

“Donating blood is something we can all do which makes a positive impact in the community,” she said.

“With the help of Hatzolah Medical Rescue, blood drives take place frequently in the Raedene-based centre to assist with the collection of much-needed blood.

“Join the family of dedicated Sanbs donors and commit to giving others the gift of life. With one blood donation, you can save a minimum of three lives.”

She added that life didn’t stop just because we were going through a pandemic, and people needed blood daily. “Sanbs appeals to everyone to donate blood as blood stocks continue to stay below safe levels. By donating blood, one can give new meaning to someone’s life – one that is filled with joy and hope.”
