Of the seven suspects involved in a business robbery, one was recently arrested

SANDRINGHAM – Sandringham police are on the hunt for the remaining six suspects.

Sandringham police arrested a 32-year-old man who was one of seven suspects allegedly involved in a business robbery at a construction company in Sandringham.

“It is alleged that on the evening of March 6 at around 22:00, seven suspects of which four were armed with firearms, entered the construction company and attacked two security guards who were on duty. Both security guards’ hands and feet were tied up and the robbers went on to steal construction materials and equipment worth around R2 million,” spokesperson Warrant Officer Aaron Lebuso said.

He added that the two guards were untied the following morning by workers who were reporting for duty. The police were called and notified of the robbery and a case of business robbery was opened.

“Sandringham police acting on information managed to arrest a male suspect in connection with that business robbery. The suspect was detained at Sandringham SAPS. An investigation is underway to trace the other suspects who were involved in this business robbery.

“The community is also requested to share any information with the police which might assist with the arrest of the other suspects and lead to the recovery of the stolen property.”

Sandringham Police Station Commander Colonel Sanet Williams applauded the members for their swift response in apprehending the suspect.
