Planned water outage to affect areas of Westcliff, Parkview and Greenside

PARKVIEW – Johannesburg Water has stated that they will provide alternative supply in the form of stationary and roaming water tankers to reduce the impact on consumers.

Residents in a number of areas are warned of a planned water outage on March 5.

According to Johannesburg Water, City Power will be undertaking urgent maintenance on March 5 between 06:30 and 15:30 as a result of work on the 2B transformer at the Rand Water Eikenhof pump station.

“The water supply from Eikenhof Rand Water Pumping Station will be reduced by 33% and 40% respectively during this time,” said Johannesburg Water in a statement.

“As a result, water supply from the Rand Water Eikenhof Pump Station to the south of the CBD, northern and western areas of Johannesburg will experience poor to no water supply during the peak water demand periods, and the most affected areas will be those in high-lying and high-demand areas.”

Johannesburg Water has stated that it will provide alternative supply in the form of stationary and roaming water tankers to reduce the impact on consumers.

Some of the areas affected, which fall under the Rosebank Killarney Gazette distribution area, include Emmarentia, Greenside, Westcliff and Parkview.
