Girls represent province

PARKVIEW – “These young ladies have kept their fitness up and been working on their skills which has paid off in their selection to represent their province,” said McCreesh.

A number of learners of Parktown High School for Girls have been selected to represent Gauteng in touch rugby.

Director of sport at Parktown Girls Catherine McCreesh said, “We are thrilled to have so many girls who have been selected to represent Gauteng.

“There has been a lot of waiting and lack of motivation over the past two years due to not being allowed to play matches.

“These young ladies have kept their fitness up and been working on their skills which has paid off in their selection to represent their province.”

The following learners have been selected for the U19A Gauteng team – Ashleigh Brownbill, Danica Lagerway, Faatima Vally, Kerrin Comodikes, Mbali Khumalo, Rodha Olivier and old girl Robyn Terry.

The following learners have been selected for the U17A side – Gaby MacPherson, Kendra Lagerway, Nicole Armstrong and Roti Muambadzi. The following learners have been selected for the U17B side – Gaby De Paiva, Gugu Ngubane, Hannah Ahrens, Lisa Sibanda, Puleng Chirwa, Simtha Mncube, Tshegofatso Marule and Yanhle Chiliza.

“Well done to all of them and we wish them luck for their upcoming inter-provincial tournament.”
