Parktown Girls matrics achieve 100 pass and 97.9% bachelor’s pass

PARKVIEW – Principal Tracey Megom described the results as fantastic.

Learners at Parktown High School for Girls in Parkview were elated with their results following a long year.

The Class of 2021 achieved a 100% pass, 97.9% bachelor’s degree pass, and the 191 group of learners achieved 437 distinctions.

Top achievers included Aamena Patel, Nikisha Baboolal, Mahdiyyah Seedat, Georgia Willcox and Georgia Shear, who all achieved eight distinctions.

Aamena spoke to the Gazette after receiving her results and said she felt shocked and elated.

She received an outstanding 98% for Afrikaans and mathematics and hopes to study medicine at the University of Cape Town this year.

“Parktown Girls has a lot of good teachers who inspired me to love my subjects. It is the goal of this school to allow their learners to thrive academically with the support they receive here. It is a diverse school that teaches you a lot,” she said.

Principal Tracey Megom described the results as fantastic.

“We are exceptionally proud of these girls. They’ve had two years of up and down and stop and start and the fact that they’ve produced such exceptional results is really fantastic,” said Megom.

Megom said the 98% bachelor’s pass was a much more important statistic as it indicated quality results.

Another noteworthy mention was that matric learner Robyn Norval achieved 100% for art.
