Outstanding results for King David High School, Linksfiled
LINKSFIELD – As a community school, children from various backgrounds are embraced.
Once again, King David High School, Linksfield achieved incredible matric results.
Principal Lorraine Srage said the results were absolutely outstanding. “We had 179 candidates and we had over 724 distinctions which amounted to about four distinctions per candidate. What makes this so special is that when they started their Grade 11 year, they started in a very difficult lockdown,” said Srage.
“For them to have done so brilliantly is a testimony to every single one of them of their determination, resilience, grit and desire to do so well. The results don’t stand in isolation, it is as a result of our academic staff who were committed and were able to teach learners online. I would also like to pay tribute to parents who are always in partnership with our school.”
She also emphasised that King David is a community school. “We take in children who come from remedial schools, that have certain barriers to learn, certain emotional issues and yet every single one of them passed. I wish all our matriculants everything that they wish themselves going forward.”
Jodi Starkowitz who does marketing for the school highlighted the following:
- Three sets of twins matriculated with a total of 41 distinctions between the six of them.
- Six learners achieved nine distinctions.
