Kingsmead top achiever discusses her inspiration

MELROSE – The top achiever said consistency and a positive attitude were essential to achieving her success.

Kingsmead College top achiever Ammaarah Wadee believes that consistency and a positive attitude are what enabled her to achieve such phenomenal results.

Wadee achieved eight distinctions, with all of her subject marks within the top 1%.

She achieved a whopping 100% for mathematics and 99% for advanced programme mathematics, physical science and life orientation.

Speaking to the Gazette, Wadee said she was very emotional and shaky upon receiving her results.

“It was so surreal,” she commented.

She has been provisionally accepted to study medicine at Wits University this year.

She said she had been inspired by her parents, aunts and grandparents who have all worked in the medical field.

Wadee thanked Kingsmead College for pushing its learners to be all-rounded, hard-working learners.

“I believe it was the ethos of diligence that got me through.”

She advised the Class of 2022 to enjoy the year, and not only focus on academic success but to have fun.

She advised other matrics who may not have achieved their desired results to remember that this is not the end of the road.

“There are so many opportunities. Make the most of what you have achieved and do something positive with it,” concluded Wadee.
