Follow these flood safety tips

MMC of Public Safety David Tembe encourages residents and motorists to be extremely cautious as heavy rainfall can be expected to continue throughout the week.

According to the councillor, continuous heavy rainfall can cause flash flooding in residential areas and roads. “A flash flood is when a low-lying area or location experiences a rapid influx of rainwater or heavy downpours over a short period.”

In the event of a flood, members of the community are encouraged to not panic and follow the safety tips below:
