A bold new world

VICTORY PARK – The Grade 1s of King David Victory Park are excited for their first year of big school.

Nothing fuels one up as the idea of a new adventure, it’s the great unknown, both daunting and exciting.

This year King David Victory Park welcomed its future Class of 2034. Each one holding their parent’s hand, this group of Grade 1s were led into a school that had a loving welcome waiting for them that no doubt helped make them feel a little more at ease.

Headmaster Andrew Baker said to the class, “Whether you’re in the ‘I need school to start now’ camp or the ‘why does school have to start now?’ section, the first day can be filled with emotions ranging from excitement to nervousness or fear – for everybody.”

He added how everyone knows it can be a scary experience for children and an emotional one for parents. “So we eased our Grade 1s in a day earlier to welcome them to big school. Yet, judging from everyone smiles – behind their masks – I can tell this is going to be an epic year with today’s experience well worth treasuring.”
