Pridwin learners happy to be back at school

MELROSE – Head of marketing, admissions and communications David Arendse said the excitement amongst the returning learners was palpable as they greeted friends again after the December break.

Learners experienced a positive start to the school year at Pridwin Preparatory in Melrose on January 12.

Head of marketing, admissions and communications David Arendse said the excitement among the returning learners was palpable as they greeted friends again after the December break.

“For the moms and dads, this day marks the end of an era and the beginning of a 12-year academic journey for their little ones. It is here that you often find the first time, or returning parent shedding a tear as they see their young boy take his first steps into a new environment,” said Arendse.

“Often their son does not share these emotions and instead makes a bee-line for the playground to meet his new classmates and start building the friendships which will, in many circumstances, last a lifetime.”

Arendse added it was at school where we are moulded, formed and provided with a launchpad to become all that we’re born to be.

Headmaster Patrick Lees encouraged staff and learners and said, “Let’s make 2022 the year of ‘202-do’.” He hopes that this year will be the one where learners and staff do all that they set out to do.

Arendse concluded, “To the Class of 2022, we wish you all the best. May this be a year of opportunity, growth and personal development for all.”
