Saxonwold hosts another event to help fight cancer

SAXONWOLD – The school hopes to host many events such as this one in the next year in order to help fight many of South Africa's ills and scourges.

In conjunction with Beauty Emporium and Grandeur Barbers, Saxonwold Primary School hosted one of its many exciting events, the Movember Shavathon and Spravathon in support of the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa).

The event took place on November 30 at the school’s aftercare centre. All the school learners, parents, staff, and community members were in attendance to contribute by making donations and/or shave or spray their hair for as little as R50 for adults and R20 for kids aged between five and 13.

The proceeds from the event will be donated to Cansa to help continue fighting cancer. Cansa is a non-governmental organisation that has been a leader in the fight against cancer in South Africa since 1931, and it offers a unique, integrated service to the public and to all people affected by cancer.

Saxonwold learners and other available guests had their hair sprayed with colourful Batiste dry shampoos from the Grandeur Barbers. The colourful dry shampoos instantly refresh and revitalise drab hair and eliminate oily roots, giving hair that has not been washed for many days an instant makeover.
