Treasured Times partners with a local charity to host a Christmas market

PARKTOWN – Vendors from all around flaunted an exquisite choice collection of splendid local and imported products and produce, whilst others presented unique handmade products and treats.

It was a temptation to anyone’s spending spree when Parktown West-based Park Care Centre partnered with Treasured Times Pop-Up Markets to host a Christmas market at the Pirates Club in Greenside on November 13.

The market was a win-win for all those involved. It provided a forum for small businesses to promote their products and services to boost sales ahead of Christmas time, a fun pop-up event for the whole family to enjoy the facilities at Pirates Club, and the opportunity to generate exposure for Park Care.

Ginny Osborne of Treasured Times Pop-Up Markets said the aim was to encourage awareness for Park Care through the Pirates Christmas Market and hopefully establish Park Care as a benefiting charity from ongoing support and generosity.

“It was a huge surprise, and even greater the honour, when Osborne contacted Park Care to share her intention to do a ‘charity drive’ on November 13 endorsing Park Care Centre, the charity in need of support at the event,” said Jaqui Smith, business development officer at the centre.

The fabulous layout for a Christmas market also brought back some ‘normality of life’ for organisers, sellers, and buyers. The tranquil backdrop at the club offered an ideal opportunity for vendors to showcase their merchandise and to provide spontaneous fun and activities for all. It also introduced Park Care’s 24/7 nursing services offered as well as the sustainable support needed.

“The 2021 Christmas market was a wonderful opportunity to not only collect donations but the event was also envisaged as creating an investment of awareness and in a way marketing drive for the distant future appealing for a feasible stream of support,” Smith said.

Park Care management, residents, and staff thanked Osborne for organising the Christmas market and inviting Park Care as part of the market’s charity drive.

“It was an eventful and exciting day and we wish all vendors and guests tremendous success in all future endeavors,” Smith concluded.
