54-hour-long water cut planned for parts of Gauteng

GAUTENG – A prolonged water cut will occur in parts of Gauteng from Monday next week.

Rand Water has planned a 54-hour water cut, starting next week Monday (November 15) in parts of Gauteng and affected residents are advised to prepare for the prolonged water cut.

The cut will be to allow for maintenance on a raw water pipe supplying the Vereeniging water purifying plant.

Suburbs to be affected in the Roodepoort/Randburg area: Bergbron, Bromhof, Claremont, Constantia Kloof, Florida, Helderkruin, Honeydew, Kya Sands, Lanseria, Northriding, Northwold, Olivedale, Randparkridge, Ruimsing, Wilro Park and Wilgeheuwel.

Areas affected in the Langlaagte/Southdale area include Brixton, Eagles Nest, Eikenhof, Emmarentia, Greenside, Mayfair, Melville, Mondeor, Newlands, Northcliff, Riverlea, Southgate, Vrededorp, Westcliff, and Westdene.
Suburbs affected in the Soweto areas include Eldorado Park, Diepkloof, Dobsonville, Meadowlands, Orlando East and West, Protea North and South.

Suburbs affected in the Johannesburg CBD include Berea, Bruma, Cyrildene, Norwood, Parktown, Troyeville, and Yeoville.
