Mpact Recycling hosted an event on September 17 to promote National Recycling Day and to unveil the organisation’s new signboard outside their facility.
The organisation kick-started their campaign with a walk around the Houghton Estate area where both HospiceWits and Mpact Recycling staff members and their volunteers spent about 45 minutes picking up litter and recyclable goods.
Donna-Mari Noble, the communications manager for Mpact Recycling, explained how the organisation operated.
“The big thing is that we support the communities that we operate in. We provide programmes to educate schools and communities on how to recycle and how to identify recyclable items. We as Mpact need the recyclables. We pay institutions for the recyclables that they collect so it’s a win-win situation for both parties,” said Noble.
“This particular campaign that we been running is going on for its second year but we have been operating with HospiceWits for many years. They have been a long-term partner of ours.”
Members of both organisations and the CEO of HospiceWits, Jacqui Kaye, attended the unveiling of the new signboard after the walk.
