Three men arrested for possession of suspected stolen property

PARKVIEW – Parkview police arrest three suspects while performing patrol around 19:20 on September 16.

Parkview police arrested three suspects between the ages of 20 and 34 on September 16 for possession of suspected stolen property.

The police were performing patrol duties at around 19:20 when they noticed a white Hyundai Accent that jumped a red traffic light. A chase ensued until the suspects stopped their vehicle.

According to a statement issued by the Parkview Station Commander, the police searched the suspect’s vehicle and they found false number plates and a cellphone that did not belong to the suspects. Preliminary investigation revealed that the motor vehicle registration did not correspond with the vehicle registration licence disk.

The suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property, possession of false number plates and reckless and negligent driving.

All three suspects appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on September 17, to answer on charges of possession of suspected stolen property, possession of false number plates and reckless and negligent driving.
