Following the announcement that a number suburbs in Region B will experience a planned power outage on September 16, City Power has noted that a number of suburbs in Region B will not have power on Heritage Day.
City Power announced, in a statement on September 13, that 13 suburbs will experience an outage from 22:00 on September 24 to 04:00 on September 25.
The following suburbs will be affected:
- Rosebank
- Illovo
- Parktown North
- Dunkeld West
- Houghton Estate
- Hyde Park Ext 39 and 47
- Atholl
- Elton Hill Ext 2 and 4
- Kew
- Weirda Valley
- Bramley
According to City Power, the planned power outage is due to necessary maintenance work on its network in efforts to provide better service.
“As the supply may be restored at anytime, customers are urged to treat their electricity points as live at all times.”
