GLENHAZEL – The Base Synagogue and Gauteng Department of Health collaborate towards a succesful vaccine rollout.

The Base Synagogue and Gauteng Department of Health have collaborated to issue Covid-19 vaccines at the Glenhazel Synagogue for people over 50 years old.

Dr Menachem Hockman said this is an amazing partnership with the Department of Health to send out vaccines to outreach sites and communities.

“We are welcoming anyone over 50 to come. We have created a partnership with the Department of Health in which we have got our admin staff and nursing staff and they’re helping us provide the vaccines and coordinate these events,” he said.

“Anyone eligible is welcome, we would like them to come. And we would like them to come to vaccination sites and to make their own outreach sites so we can fight this pandemic and get through it as quickly as possible.”

“I think it is very important that the government is doing this for the public and very essential, because with the third wave getting worse, it is important and we need to protect ourselves,” Rubin said.

Fifty-two-year old Sibongile Ncube also received her first vaccination doze at the Glenhazel Synagogue. She said that she did not feel any pain and encourages the public to go and get vaccinated.
