Norwood police arrest two suspects for armed robbery

ORANGE GROVE – Both suspects will appear before the court of law in due course.

Norwood police praised the work of Detective Sergeant Springs Honwani for arresting two suspects for armed robbery on July 14.

Spokesperson for the Norwood Police Station Sergeant Eric Masotsha said that on July 11 at 22:30, a victim was allegedly robbed of R200 in cash by two male suspects at an abandoned house at 10 7th Street, Orange Grove.

Masotsha said the victim was approached with a knife to cooperate otherwise the suspects threatened to kill him.

On July 14 at 11:00, investigating officer Sergeant Honwani went to the scene to gather information. On his arrival, the victim pointed out the two suspects.

“Both suspects were arrested and a notice of their rights was explained to them,” said Masotsha.

They were detailed at the cells at the Norwood Police Station for armed robbery.

Both suspects will appear before the court of law in due course.
