Hillbrow police continue to monitor the situation closely within their precinct following the violence, destruction of properties and looting in the area.
With the assistance of the Metro police and the South African National Defence Force, police confiscated items that were stolen during the mayhem in the area.
Alcohol, fridges and groceries were among some of the stolen items that police retrieved in the flats of Hillbrow on July 14.
According to police spokesperson Sergeant Mduduzi Zondo, the area was calm on July 15 without any new incidents being reported.
“We will continue to conduct our operations and ensure that the place is calm and that people are no longer involved in looting,” he said.
