Intelligence nurtured on and off the field

CRAIGHALL PARK – The academy recently held a soccer tournament which the young players enjoyed immensely.

IQ Football Academy hosted a soccer tournament at AJs in the Park in Craighall Park on 29 May.

The tournament was packed with in-house matches for their soccer players.

Shona Young of Investec said 35 boys and girls played matches against each other, enjoying time on the weekend to put into practice all their hard hours of practising during the week.

Young added that IQ Football, which operates from the park, had been operating since 2016 and grown in size, now accommodating 70 boys and girls that practise during the week from Monday to Friday.

“Boys and girls from as young as two years old attend the practice sessions up until the age of 14 years. Run by the founder of IQ Football, Sean Szabo with assistance from his three coaches, has set up South Africa’s only brain-centred football academy that develops a player’s intelligence on and off the field and sets them on a pathway of success.

“The players gain technical football skills, build strong mindsets and become intelligent players on and off the field. But most of all, they have fun,” said Young.
