Parktown Girls celebrates Bling Day with a twist

PARKVIEW – Donations from the day were given to Nkosi’s Haven, an NGO offering residential care and support for mothers and children whose lives have been impacted by HIV/Aids.

Learners at Parktown Girls celebrated Bling Day recently with the theme of Disney.

Vice chairperson of the Potted Sports Committee Tashriq Elmedany said, “Covid-19 presented a whole new set of challenges but the Potted Sports Committee managed to make a plan and the school rose to the challenge.”

Tashriq said that a door-decorating competition added a new twist to the school’s traditional Bling Day with each register class going out of their way to decorate their doors while different grades raced to adorn their drawings with sparkling coins.

“We are very proud of the girls for all their enthusiasm and due to this we can say that Bling Day was a major success with thousands of coins collected,” added Tashriq.
