Rotary Club of Rosebank lends a helping hand to charity

ROSEBANK – The Rotary Club of Rosebank lends a helping hand by donating a Jojo tank to Charity Begins With Me to help water their vegetable garden.

Rotary Club of Rosebank donated a Jojo tank to Charity Begins With Me to enable the non-governmental organisation to water their vegetable garden.

The organisation feeds about 950 children once a week.

“They don’t have any running water in the community but they have Jojo tanks that were supplied by the municipality and those are used for drinking water and other uses but not for watering the garden,” said Sybille Essman, Rosebank Rotary Club’s head of community services committee.

The 4 750-litre Jojo tank was delivered to Charity Begins At Home on 22 April and was funded from the various fundraisers hosted by the club towards this initiative.
“We are doing the project and many others to introduce the seventh pillar of focus, being the environment, in our Rotary new year which begins in July,” said Essman.

Stephan Ferreira, founder of Charity Begins With Me said, “Because of the generous donation from Rosebank Rotary we will be able to harvest rainwater going forward and this will allow us to expand the garden further.
“We are very grateful for the work they do and so appreciative to be on the receiving end of their amazing kindness.”
