Cash reward for information on robbery at State Capture Commission

Police have been able to extract from security camera footage clear images of two of the three suspects.

Gauteng police are offering a cash reward for information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects responsible for the business robbery at the offices of the State Capture Commission of Inquiry in Parktown on 18 April.

Gauteng police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters said that the suspects made off with a computer and two monitors.

Peters said, “The investigating team has at this stage gathered evidence which indicates that at least three suspects were involved in the robbery. Police have subsequently been able to extract from security camera footage, clear images of two of the three suspects.”

According to Peters, the positive identification of the three suspects is key to the investigation.

The cash reward is on offer to anyone who can give information that will lead to the arrest and successful prosecution of the suspects.

It has emerged during preliminary investigations that the suspects were armed at the time of the robbery.

Police urge anyone who is able to identify the suspects to not confront them as they could be armed and dangerous but rather conduct the investigating officer, Lieutenant Colonel Mathothe on 079 694 6464 or Saps Crime Stop on 086 001 0111.
