Parkhurst Library reopens

PARKHURST – First-time users need to take their proof of residence along with them. Membership is free for Joburg residents.

The Parkhurst Library has reopened following a year of closure as a result of Covid-19.

Ward 117 councillor Tim Truluck says residents can return and borrow books and up to six people may study inside the library.

“Obviously Covid protocols need to be followed. The windows and doors are open, and the fans are working so it felt nice and airy inside,” said Truluck.

The library is open on weekdays between 9am and 4pm.

The library is located at Verity Park with access from the park or via the parking area at the Rec Centre on the corner of 5th Avenue and 13th Street in Parkhurst.

Truluck hopes the Rosebank Library will also open soon.
