Lesufi condemns ill behaviour of some Parktown Boys

PARKTOWN – Lesufi urges all learners to behave in a manner that will not jeopardise their future.

Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi has condemned the ill behaviour of some matric learners at Parktown Boys High School after a video of a violent altercation between two learners went viral on social media.

Lesufi strongly condemned the behaviour of the Grade 12 learners who were recorded having a violent altercation on 8 April at the school’s tuckshop.

The video shows one learner violently attacking another after which a group of learners intervenes to stop the fight.

The learners involved in the altercation have subsequently been suspended.

Lesufi urged all learners to behave in a manner that would not jeopardise their future.

“We do not tolerate any sort of violent behaviour in our schools,” said Lesufi.

“Learners must focus on their studies and if a matter arises which bothers them, they must consult with their educators or principals about it, instead of taking matters into their own hands.”
